Why Lantern Hollow Is Better Without a Walkthrough
I almost reached for a guide twice while playing Lantern Hollow, and I'm glad I didn't. It's a short enough game that being stuck for ten minutes is part of the pleasure, not a roadblock.
The puzzles are woven into conversations, so when you solve one you usually learn something about a character. Rushing past that with a walkthrough would strip out the best part of the whole thing.
If you do get truly stuck, my advice is to talk to everyone again. The game almost always drops a hint in dialogue you skimmed the first time. I solved the lamp puzzle this way after missing an obvious line.
It's a quiet, five-hour evening of a game. Let it unfold at its own pace and it'll stick with you.
