Ashfall Wardens

Ashfall Wardens is the rare mobile RPG that respects your intelligence. You build a party of four, each with their own quirks and combat roles, and work through a story about a slowly dying kingdom. The writing is a cut above — characters actually change their minds about things.

Combat is turn-based and reads clearly even on a small screen. Positioning matters, cooldowns matter, and you can't just spam your strongest attack. We lost a couple of boss fights simply because we got lazy with our healer's timing.

Progression is generous without being mindless. You unlock new abilities at a steady clip, and respeccing is cheap, so experimenting never feels risky. It's a long game, but one you can play in chapters.
