About

Pocket Playbook started as a shared notes document between a few friends who kept texting each other tips during long commutes. At some point we realized the advice was better than most of what we found online, so we turned it into a proper site.

Everything here comes from hands-on play. We don't run a factory of outsourced articles. When we cover a game, someone on the team installs it, plays for days, and keeps a log of what worked and what wasted time.

We pick games based on what people are actually opening on their phones and what we genuinely enjoy returning to. That mix keeps the catalog varied — a racing game sits next to a slow city builder, and both get the same attention.

We're not affiliated with any studio. If a game frustrates us, we say so. The point is to help you decide whether something is worth the space on your phone.

Marko Lindqvist — Marko has been writing about games for over a decade and still keeps a battered phone just for testing older titles. He handles most of the deep-dive guides and edits everything before it goes up.
