Harbor Town Keeper Is the Cozy Sim I Keep Reopening

September 17, 2026 · Marko Lindqvist

I didn't expect much from Harbor Town Keeper, but it quietly became my go-to background game for a couple of weeks. There's no fail state and no real pressure — you just grow a sleepy port into something lively.

The loop is modest: fill orders, expand the docks, decorate. But it hits that steady, satisfying rhythm cozy sims depend on, and the town genuinely feels more alive the longer you play.

My only tip is to not optimize too hard. Chasing efficiency drains the charm out of it. I had the most fun when I let myself decorate pointlessly and just watched the residents go about their day.

It won't blow anyone away with depth, but as something to tinker with while a podcast runs, it's hard to beat.
